Ep. 13 - Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story
Thursday Nov 29, 2018
Thursday Nov 29, 2018
The lucky 13th episode of Scoring At The Movies whips rubber balls at your head (and sometimes your nads) and gabs about Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story.
Vince Vaughn is practically catatonic, but Ben Stiller is unquestionably committed to the comic cause and nails the best lines. It’s a fun flick, but just like most of the humorous sports pictures we’ve covered, it’s a pretty shallow enterprise. Chris & Ryan went off on a record-setting number of tangents in this one, sharing personal experiences of dodging, dipping, diving & ducking (not to mention dodging) and also about steroid-using smear artists like Lance Armstrong. Rich tapestry.
So bleed your own blood and ear up our chattage.

Ep. 12 - Goon
Thursday Nov 15, 2018
Thursday Nov 15, 2018
Bare your knuckles and sock us in the face because the 12th episode of Scoring At The Movies intends to body-check your audio canals! We’re back on the rink with our 2nd hockey movie, chatting about Goon.
We spent a lot of time jawing about the merits of fighting in hockey (or the lack of merit) and about the game as a whole. What can you do? We’re Canadian. The thrust of the talk though, of course, is about Seann William Scott’s Doug Glatt, the guy who just wants a purpose and just wants to belong. He’s the super-sweet, non-psychotic Travis Bickle.
Onward!

Ep. 11 - Rounders
Thursday Nov 01, 2018
Thursday Nov 01, 2018
The 11th Scoring At The Movies episode lines up our checks and doesn't splash the pot as we yack about the Damon/Norton poker picture Rounders.
Those two are terrific together, but John Malkovich's infamous take on how a Russian mobster acts steals the show and robs the flick away from everyone else. His goofy work also allowed us to do a series of bad impressions of that wacky Malk accent. But there's a lot more than that in this ep, so settle in for a long session.
Chris is a bonafide card sharp, so he's in his element with this movie. Deal!
